Sahil's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
I had the privilege of being nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2025 Eastern Wisconsin Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from February 20, 2025 to April 12, 2025 to raise money to help blood cancer patients not only survive but thrive after treatment. I am writing today to ask for your support of my campaign and LLS’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients.
As a Sophomore in High School, I have created a team of committed friends and family to partner with me on this journey. Together, we have set a fundraising goal of $30,000! The money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, education and support. Our candidate team is particularly passionate about Patient Advocacy and Support and will be representing this area of LLS during my campaign.
I am participating because cancer and blood cancer is a very big issue in our world. There is no cure for it but we can still try our best to support it in any way. Both parents have had experience in the medical field, with my dad currently working as a physician. Both of my sisters are also on their way to pursuing medical careers. Medicine and especially cancer research are things that interest me very much and are things I am passionate about, which is why I am motivated to raise funds that can be put towards patient help and research. I have had experiences involving cancer with regards to people close to me, and it is a very devastating thing. My campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. I know that with your help, I can reach my goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.
Please feel free to donate any amount of money in support of blood cancer. Every dollar counts! Thank you for taking you time and any consideration taken towards LLS!
